Global Fund Approves Fresh Grants

The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria gave the go-ahead to 94 grants worth USD2.75 billion. Anti-malaria programs will receive over half of the two-year funding while projects aimed at fighting AIDS and TB will get 38 percent and 11 percent of the sum, respectively. Africa and the Middle East will benefit the most from the grants. The fund’s total commitment now stands at more than USD14 billion.
