Global Fund Halts 5 Grants to Philippine Nonprofit

The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria has suspended five grants to the Philippines' Tropical Disease Foundation over issues of fund misuse,

reports. The Geneva-based agency said that approximately USD1 million of the total USD85 million disbursed was used for unauthorized activities. The Global Fund is demanding repayment of the misused money.
