Global Fund Resumes Philippine Grants

The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria has l

for a number of malaria and AIDS programs in the Philippines, Reuters report. The grants, which were managed by the Tropical Disease Foundation, were suspended in September 2009 following allegations of funding misuse. The Global Fund has chosen the Philippine Department of Health to manage a USD1.9 million grant portfolio and the Pilipinas Shell Foundation to oversee USD31.4 million worth of grants.
