GTZ Backs Food Security Initiatives in Philippine Region

The German Technical Cooperation, or GTZ, has partnered with the Philippine Department of Agriculture to launch a project that aims to secure food supply in the country’s Leyte island. The project will award small grants to local government units and nonprofits for initiatives aimed at improving cash flow for low-income families, increasing crop production, and boosting forest and fish productivity in communities around the island, the Philippine Information Agency reports.
