Habitat for Humanity, IDB Help Build Houses in Haiti

U.S.-based Habitat for Humanity International and the Inter-American Development Bank’s Multilateral Investment Fund are assisting 500 Haitian families in rebuilding their homes following the massive Jan. 12 earthquake. MIF is granting USD3 million for the project, which will use HFHI’s “learn by doing” method to train participants in building techniques, making construction materials, setting up micro-enterprises, managing risks, and protecting the environment.
