Amid pressure from the several world leaders, Haitian President Rene Preval and his party have begun encouraging Jude Celestin, their candidate for the upcoming presidential run-off vote, to withdraw from the race, party officials have said. Celestin, however, is giving no indication that he would abide by the request, The New York Times says.
