Haiti Gains More IMF Funding

The International Monetary Fund scaled up its financing for Haiti by USD36.6 million to bring the fund's total assistance to the hurricane-hit nation to USD170.9 million. Some USD35.8 million will be immediately released by IMF, according to

. "The authorities remain firmly committed to their economic program, which seeks to strike a balance between safeguarding macroeconomic stability and pursuing economic and social development," IMF Deputy Managing Director Takatoshi Kato said.
