Haiti Rebuilding Costs up to USD14B

The price tag for rebuilding Haiti may reach USD14 billion as estimated by the Inter-American Development Bank, Reuters reports. The study weighed the damage in view of the ravaged nation’s large population size, low economic productivity and crumbling down of key establishments at the capital, Port-au-Prince.

Excellent aid coordination was deemed vital given the magnitude of the disaster and the unprecedented flow of support from countries and agencies. Haitian President Rene Preval plans to create a common fund devoted to the nation’s recovery, to be managed with donor parties.
