Half of Homeless Haitians Have Received Temporary Shelter

Half of the approximately 1.3 million Haitians left homeless by a Jan. 12 earthquake have already received emergency shelters, the Associated Press reports. Aid agencies working on the ground said they aim to reach at least two thirds of the homeless Haitian population by April 1, which marks the official start of the country’s rainy season.
