How Herbicide Use Can Spread in Africa

Herbicide use is still rare in Africa. Part of the reason may be that farmers regard it as a risky method, says Leonard Gianessi, director CropLife Foundation's Crop Protection Research Institute. He says farmers need to have confidence in the technology but that will only happen if there is commitment from governments to support weed science education and strengthen agro-dealerships.
