Hungary’s junior coalition party, including Economy Minister Csaba Kakosy, won’t back plans to run OAO Gazprom’s South Stream natural-gas pipeline through Hungary unless the link improves the country’s energy security. Kakosy’s Free Democrats’ Alliance supports an opposition- sponsored motion to convene a special session of parliament to discuss South Stream, the minister and party Chairman Janos Koka said in an e-mailed statement. Parliament leaders refused to call an emergency meeting today, saying it couldn’t be organized before an agreement on South Stream is due to be signed. (Bloomberg)
