IDB Helps Chile Scale Up Energy Financing

The Inter-American Development Bank intends to support Chile in its bid to mobilize $35 million in projects developed by energy service companies.

The effort looks to leverage additional financing from several sources, including $23.93 million from financial institutions, $4.86 million from engineering firms and energy service companies, $3.61 million from Chile’s national development bank, and $2.36 million from the Global Environment Facility.

The funding will help to design and implement a partial credit guarantee program to encourage engineering firms and energy service companies to develop an energy service market in Chile.
