IDB Helps Combat Neglected Infectious Diseases in Latin America, Caribbean

The

has forged a co-financing agreement with the Sabin Vaccine Institute to create a new lending facility aimed at fighting parasitic and infectious diseases in Latin America and the Caribbean. The facility will offer grants for mass drug administration, preventive chemotherapy and other cost-effective interventions to combat tropical illnesses. Technical assistance will also be provided to bolster national and local health information systems.
