IDB Helps Provide Reliable Electricity in Argentina

The Inter-American Development Bank is providing USD120 million to help improve the reliability and security of electricity services in 18 Argentine provinces.

The project seeks to build or rehabilitate 937.3 kilometers of transmission and distribution lines by 2015. It will support the Argentine government’s Federal Electricity Transmission Plan, which aims to restore electricity transmission capacity in provinces and enhance the efficiency of the country’s transmission grid.
