IDB Lends to Guatemala's Rural Power Scheme

The Inter-American Development Bank will lend USD55 million to help fund a rural energy program in Guatemala. The program, to be implemented by the National Electrification Institute, seeks to encourage the use of renewable energy sources and support government incentives for rural power grid connection projects.
