IDB Promotes Private Sector Involvement in Colombia Infrastructure Projects

The Inter-American Development Bank earmarked USD14.2 million to increase participation of the private sector in transportation, energy, communications, and water and sanitation projects. The loan is the third for a program that commenced in 1996, which encouraged private sector involvement and concessions at various levels of the government for infrastructure projects. “The satisfactory execution of the program’s first and second stages is due in large part to the strength of the government’s commitment as well as technical support from the Bank,” IDB team leader Pablo Guerrero said in a statement.
