IMF announces new loan disbursements

The International Monetary Fund made a series of pronouncements indicating its plans to release funding to three low-income countries. It will provide USD18.5 million to Afghanistan and send USD75.6 million and USD7.2 million to Burundi and Sierra Leone, respectively. The decision followed the agency’s review of the countries’ economic programs backed by the Poverty Reduction and Growth Facility.
