IMF Chief Leads French Popularity Polls

    International Monetary Fund Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn has surpassed the popularity of French President Nicolas Sarkozy, gaining 76 percent to the French leader’s 38 percent, according to Ifop poll. Another survey by BVA, Reuters reports, favored Strauss-Kahn as a politician who has more influence in France. Strauss-Kahn earlier hinted that he may cut short his term as IMF chief to run for French president in 2012.
