In Nigeria, Ease of Doing Business Varies

There exist wide variations in business regulations across Nigeria, a World Bank report says. The differences are brought about by discrepancies in the performance of the Corporate Affairs Commission, stamp duty offices, federal and state inland revenue services, state licensing authorities for business premises, and other state branches of federal agencies involved in business registration, according to the bank’s Doing Business 2010. The report examined the ease of starting a business, dealing with construction permits, registering property and enforcing contracts in 183 economies, Nigerian Village Square reports.
