India Helps Boost ICT in Pacific Education Sector

    In a first, India is providing USD1 million dollars to improve the delivery of education services in the Pacific region, Solomon Star reports. The grant, channeled through the Asian Development Bank, will be used to upgrade the information and technology network of the University of the South Pacific, a regional institution serving 13 Pacific countries. Through the project, India aims to lend its technical expertise and experience in ICT to help increase affordability and access of higher education in the region.

    A joint ADB-India delegation is currently in Fiji to discuss the project with University of the South Pacific officials.
