India's Solar Power Projects Attract Donor Interest

The European Investment Bank is interested in funding the development of solar park projects in India, according to a senior investment specialist from the Asian Development Bank.

“From our talks with the ADB donor members and investment banks, EIB has expressed interest in providing financing for the Indian Solar Park projects,” Don Purka said, according to The Hindu.

Purka, who was speaking at the sidelines of a clean energy expo in India, added that Germany’s KfW and the U.S. Import-Export Bank have also expressed interest in investing in the projects.

ADB has provided a USD3 million grant to back the construction of solar parks in two Indian states.
