India to Extend ADB Executive Director’s Term

Ashok Lahiri is set to represent India on the Asian Development Bank board for another year. Indian Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee has approved the proposed extension of Lahiri’s stint as ADB executive director, Times of India reports.

The proposed extension is now awaiting the approval of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Lahiri joined the ADB board in 2007. Prior to this, he was the chief economic advisor of the Indian government.
