The Indonesian government obtained USD6 billion in standby loans from multilateral and bilateral organizations to plug the nation's 2009 budget deficit,

reported. The funding is necessary to keep the economy afloat in the wake of the stagnating global economy, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said.
