About the World Bank funding pipeline
The World Bank maintains a pipeline of loans, grants, and projects that are under preparation, and publishes an updated description of this pipeline once a month in its Monthly Operational Summary, or MOS.
MOS gives the bank’s contractors and partners a glimpse of potential future opportunities. It generally contains between 900-1,200 items under consideration, worth over $100 billion in potential World Bank funding. It gives various details: the country or regional focus of each pipeline project; the sector of work; a short description and title; and sometimes the local implementing agency. Most importantly, MOS includes provisional project budgets — both the portion contributed by the World Bank Group and any portion contributed by third parties.
