On Feb. 20, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad submitted to parliament budget proposal worth 1.769 trillion Iranian rials ($180 billion) for the country’s next fiscal year, which starts March 21. The president also briefed legislators on the contents of the proposal, explaining that more than 475 trillion Iranian rials has been allocated to development projects in the next fiscal year, Xinhua says, citing a report from the English-language Press TV news agency.
