The U.S. is disappointed that Israel has issued new tenders for the construction of some 240 housing units in Jewish settlements beyond the so-called Green Line in east Jerusalem. The U.S. said the decision hinders efforts to restart direct talks between Israel and the Palestinian territories, Laura Rozen writes in Politico, citing Agence France-Presse.
