Italy to Kosovo: Do it Yourself!

Western donor countries are encouraging Kosovo to start developing its economy on its own and reduce reliance on external aid, EurActiv reports. Michael Giffoni, the Italian ambassador to Kosovo, noted that international assistance alone will not solve the economic problems and foster real progress in the country. Foreign assistance comprises 15 percent of Kosovo’s gross domestic product, and the government is planning to ask for additional aid in coming months, EurActiv reports.
