Jamaican Firm Wins US Lunch Card Contract

    A Jamaican firm has won a U.S. contract to enhance school feeding programs in Ghana through electronic lunch cards, Jamaica’s The Gleaner reports.

    Student Card Limited, a technology solutions firm, is also set to receive an undisclosed amount from U.S. billionaire George Soros as capital for the Ghana lunch program, currently implemented at an annual cost of USD250 million. SCL had earlier received up to USD100,000 in seed funding from the U.S. Agency for International Development.
