Japan answers UNRWA appeal

The Japanese government has pledged a total of USD5.5 million to help sustain the efforts of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency in Northern Lebanon. The money will be used to support the construction of temporary, short-term shelters for those in the Nahr El Bared camp, while some of the funds will go to the creation of two pre-fabricated schools in the region. Tokyo’s contribution will also pay for pyscho-social support services and hygiene kits for traumatized children.
