Japan Bolsters Polio Fight in Pakistan, Nigeria

Japan is providing a total of USD15.1 million in grants to help eradicate polio in Pakistan and Nigeria

The Japanese government has released USD4.7 million to purchase 24 million doses of oral polio vaccine for Pakistani children. Japan’s contribution accounts for 10 percent of Pakistan’s total oral polio vaccine requirement.

Nigeria will likewise use its USD10.4 million grant from Japan to procure oral polio vaccine, and also stock up on malaria drugs.
