Japan Helps Boost African Private Sector

The Japanese government is granting USD1 billion to foster private sector development in Africa. The grant, which will be administered by the African Development Bank, will fund studies, technical assistance and capacity-building projects,

reports. "The grant is also for private sector projects and African institutions, such as AB Microfinance Bank of Nigeria," said Toshitsugu Uesawa, the Japanese ambassador to Nigeria.
