Japan okayed a USD3.68 million grant assistance package meant to alleviate living conditions in Nepal’s food-deprived districts. The Nepal Food Corporation will distribute the supplies, consisting mostly of rice. “The food aid would assist the effort by the Nepal government to ease the difficulties faced by the people in the food-deficit areas,” proclaimed Japanese ambassador Tatsuo Mizuno, who inked the agreement with Nepalese finance secretary Vidyadhar Mallik.
