Japan Helps Reconstruct 5 Sri Lankan Bridges

Japan will provide 1.2 billion Japanese yen (USD14.36 million) to help reconstruct five bridges in Sri Lanka’s Eastern Province.

The bridges will be repaired to meet current national standards, according to a news release from Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Defense. These bridges were built approximately 60 years ago and have not been properly maintained because of the long-standing conflict in the Eastern Province, which was recently resolved.
