Japan Props Up Afghan Education Sector

    Japan will donate USD24 million, under an agreement signed with UNICEF, to build some 1,000 classrooms in Afghanistan. The initiative will reinforce the nation's education strategic plan by enabling around 80,000 children to attend classes, a

    stated. Japan has provided USD89 million in the past eight years to boost UNICEF's operation in Afghanistan, particularly in health and education.
