Japan, UNICEF Team Up to Rebuild Quake-Hit Areas in Rwanda

    The Japanese government channeled USD7.5 million through UNICEF to help rehabilitate Rwanda's western province, which was damaged by a series of earthquakes in February 2008. According to

    , the funding will help rebuild 15 of the severely destructed schools along with three health centers in Rusizi and Nyamasheke districts. The initiative will also help communities in the two districts carry out their own development projects.
