China and Kazakhstan pledged to strengthen bilateral ties in a meeting between Chinese President Hu Jintao and Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev in Astana June 12. The two parties agreed to implement concerted efforts to pursue strategic partnership and comprehensive cooperation in bilateral affairs specifically in fighting terrorism and organized transnational crimes as well as improving transport infrastructure, energy and pharmaceutical sectors, among others.
