Kenya Gains Fresh Aid for Renewable Energy Scheme

Kenya will build four separate geothermal generators with USD1.3 billion in new financing from international donors, Green Beat reports. The construction of the geothermal facilities, which will be managed by Kenya Electricity Generating Co. and Sinclair Knight Merz, is expected to be completed by 2013. The World Bank, European Development Bank, German Development Bank, African Development Bank and Japan International Cooperation Agency are financing the project.
