The World Bank approved a pair of loans to boost Kenya's energy and road sectors. The bank will provide an additional

to help Kenya enhance electricity distribution and carry out electrification programs. Kenya also secured some

from the global lender to complete remaining contracts for the rehabilitation of the Northern Corridor including the Mau Summit-Kisumu Road section as well as the restoration and replacement of infrastructure and public assets damaged during the 2008 postelection conflict.
