There is a persisting risk for social unrest in Kosovo due to the lack of a significant communal reconciliation process among the different ethnic communities in the country, a top U.N. envoy said. Lamberto Zannier, the U.N. secretary-general’s special representative to Kosovo, added that the U.N. mission to the country is working to address issues affecting these communities. Zannier added the risk for social unrest is highest in northern Kosovo.
