Kosovo began taking part in the International Monetary Fund’s General Data Dissemination System on Friday (April 1).

Adelheid Burgi-Schmelz, director of the IMF Statistics Department, said: “Kosovo’s participation in the GDDS is a major milestone in the country’s statistical development. I am confident that Kosovo will benefit from using the GDDS as a framework for further development of its statistical system.”

The GDDS, established in 1997, helps countries develop their statistical systems for policymaking.
