Kuwait offers $800M to Lebanon

Kuwait announced it will provide $800 million to Lebanon. The aid package, according to a government statement, consists of $500 million for the Lebanese central bank and $300 million in aid to reconstruct regions devastated by Israeli attacks. The oil-producing country also plans to channel $2 million to several United Nations humanitarian agencies to help victims of the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah. The statement conveyed the government’s condemnation of “the appalling massacres, the targeting of basic infrastructure, and the organized state terrorism continuously practiced by Israel against the brotherly Lebanese people, the latest being the Qana massacre which victimized innocent children, women and elderly men.”
