The World Health Organization lauded Liberia’s progress on the Millennium Development Goals related to public health. A new WHO report notes that Liberia has reduced child mortality by more than 20 percent between 2000 and 2007. Developing nations also made strides in combating maternal and child mortality, and malaria, HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis, according to the report published for WHO’s 63rd World Health Assembly in Geneva this week.
