Mauritania's foreign minister says recent attacks claimed by al-Qaida's North African branch were committed by foreign fighters. Naha Mint Moknass told France-24 television Wednesday that a recent suicide bombing and a separate killing of an American teacher were the work of foreigners. She did not say where the fighters were from. Her comments contradict an al-Qaida claim Aug. 18 hat a recent suicide bomber was Mauritanian. The Aug. 8 suicide bombing outside the French Embassy wounded three people. (AP)
