Michel Kazatchkine Wins Second Term as Global Fund Chief

The board of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria has re-appointed Michel Kazatchkine as the fund’s executive director for a second term

Kazatchkine’s initial three-year appointment began in April 2007. His new mandate will last through March 2014.

Prior to this post, the acclaimed physician and global health expert served the Global Fund as vice chairman of its board and the first chairman of its technical review panel, which evaluates the quality of grant proposals.
