MIGA Names New CFO

Lakshmi Shyam-Sunder is joining the senior management team at the World Bank Group’s Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency. She will hold the post of chief financial officer and director of finance and risk management.

Prior to her appointment, Shyam-Sunder had served in the International Finance Corp., another World Bank unit, as director of corporate risk management and, risk management and financial policy.

“MIGA welcomes Lakshmi to the agency,” MIGA Executive Vice President Izumi Kobayashi said in a March 15 press release. “Her commitment to encouraging sustainable foreign direct investment into developing countries is strong and we look forward to using her talent in support of that goal.”

At MIGA, Shyam-Sunder will oversee the organization’s portfolio risk management, including the launch of new products, financial reporting, integrated risk management, and administrative budget.
