Mindanao Needs Development Experts, Philippine Rebel Leader Says

Ghazali Jaafar, vice chairman for political affairs of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, is urging the Organization of Islamic Conference to send development experts in Mindanao to address the problems of war-affected Bangsamoro communities, Manila Bulletin reports.

Jaafar fired off this call at the height of OIC’s plans to deploy a fact-finding team to the southern Philippines, which was contained in a resolution signed at an OIC meeting of foreign ministers last May in Tajikistan.

The move to hire experts is intended to provide more aid and enable socioeconomic development to take place in Muslim communities.
