More Aussie Funding for UN Agencies

    The Australian government will release nearly USD166 million from its 2008-2009 federal budget to provide additional funding for key United Nations agencies over a four-year period, said Minister for Foreign Affairs Stephen Smith. These agencies include UNICEF, the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, the World Health Organization, the United Nations Population Fund, the United Nations Development Fund for Women and the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS.
