More US Aid for Hurricane-Hit Cuba

The U.S. pledged another USD6.3 million in post-hurricane relief to Cuba. The decision followed an appeal by the Caribbean nation for construction materials. The Cuban government rejected an earlier pledge of USD5 million in U.S. funding but a U.S. Agency for International Development official revealed that USD2 million of the amount has been channeled through humanitarian organizations operating in the country .
