Muslim Nations Urged to Act on Climate Woes

Islamic nations need to start buckling down to combat climate change. This was the message of the recently concluded conference on Muslim action on climate change, as reported by The Jakarta Post. The conference suggested that Muslim communities set up eco-Islamic boarding schools and conduct awareness campaigns on sustainable development. It also urged the Organization of the Islamic Conference to establish a special council that would spearhead Islamic efforts in fighting climate change.
