The country celebrated World Population Day (July 11) with the government urging for nationwide cooperation toward meeting the U.N. Millennium Development Goals by the 2015 deadline, Xinhua reports.

Myanmar is currently conducting an agricultural census through August 2011. The census is supported by the U.N. Food and Agricultural Office, which is also helping the country find other sources of financing to raise the USD3.1 million total it needs for the project.
